Loving Our Trash: Congolese Youths are Taking Steps Towards Curbing Environmental Pollution

Loving our Trash is a campaign of Climate Education Congo (@climateeducg) that raises awareness about waste management.
Legran Plavy Ntsiele, is the president of Climate Education Congo, a youth-lead organization that raises awareness about environmental issues in the Republic of Congo through artistic, cultural and educational activities.

In these photographs, Legran and his team creatively express the need for society to pay close attention to its environmental state, highlighting the fact that pollution has unfortunately become a part of their immediate environment.
He describes how environmental pollution is quickly becoming a scourge in Congo:
“Today we found garbage everywhere, in our street, in gutters, rivers, oceans, beaches, forests... and we don’t pay attention to it. We have a dirty love affair with trash and we must change to it by taking care of our garbage properly to keep our environment safe“
