At the 2022 GRAMMYs, Angelique Kidjo's 'Mother Nature' wins the GRAMMY for Best Global Music Album. This is the fifth victory in the Beninese singer's career.

In her address, Kidjo made a point of mentioning the young African musicians who worked with her on Mother Nature, including Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, and Shungudzo, who she says "are going to take the world by storm." She finished with a powerful declaration, "We are all Africans," after thanking the people who listened "when we needed you."

Other albums nominated in the category included Rocky Dawuni's Voice Of Bunbon, Vol. 1, Daniel Ho & Friends' East West Players Presents: Daniel Ho & Friends Live In Concert, Femi Kuti And Made Kuti's Legacy +, and WizKid's Made In Lagos: Deluxe Edition.
